The Lord is Righteous in All His Ways, and Holy in All His Works

Happy Monday Saints.

It’s October Outreach! We saw last week that God is UPRIGHT; that He is perfect and holy in every way.

There is NO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN HIM.

You and I, on the other hand, are not perfect. If you’re like me, we fall short of GOD’S GLORIOUS STANDARD.

The Old Testament and the laws contained therein reveal how very far from perfect I am.

For example, I have broken all of the Ten Commandments that are recorded in Exodus 20, including murder and adultery. 1John 3:15 says that “ANYONE WHO HATES A BROTHER OR SISTER IS A MURDERER.”

And Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that “ANYONE WHO LOOKS AT A WOMAN LUSTFULLY HAS ALREADY COMMITTED ADULTERY WITH HER IN HIS HEART.”

Has God always been first in my life? No. Then I’ve surely broken the first four Commandments. Have I ever lied, dishonoured my parents, taken something that wasn’t mine, or coveted something? Then along with the aforementioned murder and adultery, I’ve broken the remaining six. So for me, that’s 0 out of 10. Nowhere near God’s glorious standard.

How about you? If you scored better than I did just remember, the standard is PERFECTION.

James 2:10 tells us that “WHOEVER KEEPS THE WHOLE LAW AND YET STUMBLES AT JUST ONE POINT IS GUILTY OF BREAKING ALL OF IT.”

Well, even if you’ve only told one lie in your entire life, you are just as guilty as I am.

So it’s understandable that Jesus was once asked, “WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?” And He replied in Luke 18:27 that “WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH MAN IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD.”

It’s IMPOSSIBLE for you and me to make ourselves good enough to enter the kingdom of heaven. But the good news is, God did the IMPOSSIBLE for us.

But more on that tomorrow. God bless and have an awesome week.

Love and prayers,
Warren
