Yesterday we looked at the importance of hearing the Word of God so that we can stand strong in faith. The Psalmist said “I HAVE HIDDEN YOUR WORD IN MY HEART.” (119:11)
I once heard a minister say, “That’s how it is with the Bible. It’s right there – and we talk about it. We discuss the Scriptures. And we quote them. But it really doesn’t get in us. IT DOESN’T GET DOWN INTO OUR SPIRITS LIKE IT SHOULD. That’s why it doesn’t work for us.”
We all know what it’s like to hear someone speak without really listening to them. In the parable of the sower, Jesus spoke of the good ground that HEARD THE WORD, RETAINED IT and PRODUCED A CROP. To get Bible results we must RETAIN God’s Word IN OUR HEARTS and then put that Word into action.
