Happy Monday Saints.
1Thessalonians 5:15 “MAKE SURE THAT NOBODY PAYS BACK WRONG FOR WRONG, BUT ALWAYS STRIVE TO DO WHAT IS GOOD FOR EACH OTHER AND FOR EVERYONE ELSE.”
There’s no doubt that Covid-19 has changed things. I’ve even heard news reports of increased anxiety amongst children over the last couple of years.
People are stressed and worried about the future. And when we aren’t thinking clearly and when we are not at peace – our behaviours change.
We become more toxic. The way we speak to one another becomes more destructive, and our actions more harmful.
Some people are not intentionally trying to mistreat others, but their high stress levels are causing them to behave uncharacteristically wrong.
Regardless of others’ motives or reasons for doing the wrong things, the Bible tells us not to pay back wrong for wrong.
As Christians, we have every reason to be at peace – we’ve got God. We’ve got His peace and His love inside our hearts.
God’s love is stronger than any outside forces that may try to disturb you. Romans 12:21 says, “DO NOT BE OVERCOME BY EVIL, BUT OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD.”
You are strong in Christ. Your internal strength is greater than the external pressures. If someone who is stressed and worried because of Covid-19 does you wrong, don’t react straight away. Take a moment to pray and connect with the God of peace. He can give you the strength to control your emotions and reign in any desire to pay back wrong for wrong.
You’re a lot BIGGER on the inside, and you have all that you need in Christ to OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD.
Have a fantabulous week. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
