3 John 1:2 “BELOVED, I PRAY THAT YOU MAY PROSPER IN ALL THINGS AND BE IN HEALTH, JUST AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS.”
As we saw yesterday, the health and prosperity of the soul must come first.
Many try to gain abundance without prospering their soul, only to find that material possessions and great wealth mean nothing when you’re empty inside.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 says that “THOSE WHO LOVE MONEY WILL NEVER HAVE ENOUGH. HOW MEANINGLESS TO THINK THAT WEALTH BRINGS TRUE HAPPINESS.”
The love of money and material possessions is an appetite that can never be satisfied. And yet, many try to fill this bottomless pit with more.
In John 6:35 Jesus said “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. WHOEVER COMES TO ME WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY, AND WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME WILL NEVER GO THIRSTY.”
Like the tree that is deliberately planted by the stream, it is our responsibility to go to Christ. Being spiritually and emotionally strong is not just for a select few. Jesus said “WHOEVER COMES TO ME” will never go hungry or thirsty.
Jesus is to the soul what bread and water are to the body.
If you are extremely dissatisfied with where you’re at, with what you’re doing, with where you’re heading, or with all that you’ve amassed for yourself – then you’ve planted yourself far from the true source of life and fulfilment.
Without God, everything is meaningless.
Jesus is the spiritual fuel and the sustaining power of everything that we do. Draw near to Him today and receive from Him what your soul craves more than anything else.
