Thursday 29 December 2022, Lefaga Samoa. Toa Samoa Kelma Tuilagi chose Return to Paradise Resort at Lefaga Bay as the perfect setting to ask his long time partner, Mikaylie Gendron for her hand in marriage.
The proposal is reported by Talamua Media as having been “in a private get together while surrounded by his team mates and loved ones.”
The Toa Samoa management and players were welcomed to Samoa on Wednesday night by a famous Return to Paradise Fiafia Night – a fantastic show complete with traditional fire knife dancing put on by the resort’s own staff.
The buffet feast and cultural floor show provided the perfect setting to celebrate the couple’s engagement.
Kaylie is reported to have been immediately put to the test, to perform a traditional Samoan Siva, “accompanied by her fiancé Kelma as the Aiuli.”

Kaylie is not one to back down from a challenge. Each year at the Dally M Awards, Ms Gendron is amongst the most eloquently dressed ladies of rugby league.
At this year’s awards in September, Kaylie made the red carpet’s dare to bare list described by the Daily Mail’s Monique Friedlander.. “Kaylie stole the show in a bright orange gown that highlighted her curves and boasted a dramatic bodice with mesh inserts.”

The Toa Samoa have an early start on Thursday morning, driving back into Apia to attend an 8:30am special mass to be held at the Mulivai Cathedral, followed by the parade down Apia’s Beach Road at 10am.
Born in Samoa before moving to New Zealand as a young boy, Kelma Tuilagi’s timing is perfect, with the marriage proposal being the night before Kaylie’s birthday – 29th of December.
Happy Birthday Kaylie, Faamanuia Le Atua and Congratulations to you both.
