A Manusina Video Analyst has been told to apologise for making inappropriate advances toward a player.
The full time staff member of Lakapi Samoa has been told to apologise and attend a behaviour change programme.
An investigation into allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” was conducted after a complaint had been filed by the Manusina Team Management, said Lakapi Samoa Chief Executive Officer, Faleomavaega Vincent Fepuleai.
“The staff member is to get in contact with the player and apologise for his unacceptable behaviour,” said the CEO.
Faleomavaega adds that the video analyst/photographer has been told to attend a Lakapi Samoa GIR Plus course on proper behaviour during and around an all-female team environment.
“Lakapi Samoa takes these matters seriously and have acted swiftly to ensure the welfare and safety of all our female players and Management under our care,” he added.
A Manusina rugby player who had been on the South African tour said the team Video Analyst had sent inappropriate text messages to a player and then tried to visit her room.
The matter was reported to the Manusina Head Coach Mataafa Ramsey Tomokino, who immediately brought it to the attention of Lakapi Samoa.
