Adapted from Daily Devotions In His Presence, by Charles F Stanley. It may seem that the forces and circumstances aligned against you are overwhelming. Perhaps there are people who seem more powerful than you attempting to undermine you or there are those who are spreading ugly rumours about you that aren’t true. Perhaps you are being attacked for defending someone that is being publicly ridiculed and put down by others, or you have taken a stand for Christ and are being persecuted because of it. The impacts of social media today, means people who don’t even know you, and haven’t even met you, can pass judgement on you and post horrible things online about you.
At such times, take heart – your life is in God’s hands. He is your Defender. Nothing can touch you that he doesn’t first allow for your benefit. Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that accuses you in judgement you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.
The Almighty God is declaring that weapons made to attack you will not succeed, and words spoken against you cannot harm you, not one little bit. God is saying to you and I, his servants, that Jerusalem is ours! and he promises to bless you with victory!
So declare this promise of God over yourself and your family everyday. Come before Him and pray:
No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that accuses me in judgement, I will condemn for this is my heritage and my vindication, from You, Oh Lord.
Friend, keep your heart clean before God and remember His promise, “They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you.” (Jeremiah 1:9). Your hope, your defense, your vindication, and your future are all in the great big loving hands of the Lord God Almighty. The people and the challenges aligned against you cannot overpower Him.
Trust Him. No matter what happens, He will bring forth good from it. Romans 8:28 says, “And all things shall work for the good for those who love the Lord, and are called to His purpose.” And in God’s Living Word, ALL means ALL.
Lord, I will trust You completely to take me through any challenge life throws my way. You have my next steps planned and no one can thwart your eternal purposes for me, Amen.
