2 Corinthians 4:17
“FOR OUR LIGHT AND MOMENTARY TROUBLES ARE ACHIEVING FOR US AN ETERNAL GLORY THAT FAR OUTWEIGHS THEM ALL.”
Happy Friday Saints.
For the early church, the joy of spending eternity with the Lord, gave them great comfort during their times of trouble. They didn’t care too much about suffering for a righteous cause because they knew that their experience was only temporary compared to the eternal glory that awaited them.
We do those who are new to the Christian faith a great disservice when we preach and teach a gospel of comfort and ease.
The Lord is able to help us, comfort us, and deliver us from our troubles, but He doesn’t always spare us from them.
Psalm 34:19 says “MANY ARE THE AFFLICTIONS OF THE RIGHTEOUS, BUT THE LORD DELIVERS HIM OUT OF THEM ALL.”
Rather than expecting God to give us a trouble-free life, we should be trusting Him to provide us with the strength and resilience to overcome them.
Jesus said in John 16:33 that “IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.”
The Lord who is ALWAYS with you in times of trouble can give you the courage and the strength to overcome anything that the world throws at you. His victory over the world is your victory too.
So don’t be offended when you fall into various trials and hardships. The God that you love and serve is greater than any adversity, and He can deliver you OUT OF THEM ALL.
Have faith in God and be more than a conqueror this weekend. Love and prayers,
Warren
