Air New Zealand have asked for patience as they try to reschedule over 500 cancelled flights affecting over 29,000 customers.

Sometimes two days is all you need to escape to Beautiful Samoa where the adventure never stops 🏝⛱

“Please continue to bear with us as we navigate the disruption #CycloneGabrielle has caused 💜” the airline have posted on its social media pages.

“With over 500 flight cancellations impacting more than 29,000 customers, we’re doing everything we can to get those disrupted back into the skies as quickly as possible”.

According to the national carrier, domestic and international flights should resume by mid-morning today, Tuesday 14 February 2023 while turboprop operations should be up and running from mid-afternoon.

It’s Valentines Day!

“For our international customers, we’re doing everything we can to get you to where you need to go as quickly as possible,” assures Air New Zealand.

The airline says larger aircrafts will be added to international routes and they will be working with Star Alliance partners to minimize further delays and disruptions.

Additional flights will be added and cargo flights will also be converted and utilized for passengers, according to the airline who have asked that customers refrain from calling the airline’s contact centre at this time.

“If your flight is affected we will contact you directly..”

“We want to once again thank you for your patience while we work through another significant rebooking event,” says Air New Zealand.

The recent floods that forced the Auckland Airport to shut down from the evening of 27th January until the afternoon of  28 January 2023 left passengerd stranded around the world including Samoa.

When the airport reopened Air New Zealand resumed with scheduled flights, and told passengers on cancelled flights to rebook. This caused havoc for travellers with flights already booked out for days, even weeks from some destinations.

One Auckland family holidaying in Samoa had to return home by purchasing tickets on Fiji Airways, on a route that took them Apia-Nadi-Brisbane-Auckland.
