18 Fdbruary 2019, Apia Samoa. Aana Blues forward, Oge Alesana is the winner for Samoa Global News competition that was held last weekend during the 31st Vailima International 7s at Lotopa.
The competition invited anyone of the public at the ACP stadium to take a selfie in front of the Samoa Global News Banner and upload it to the website with the most likes by the end of the tournament to receive $200 cash.
Oge told Samoa Global News she took a selfie with her team mates on Saturday after her Aana Blues was knocked out of the competition at the quarter finals.
The 26 year old from Satufia living in Vaitele Uta said when she got the call that she was both shocked and elated.
“I just participated in the promotion and tagged all my friends to like the photo but I didn’t think I was doing to win,” she said.
“I live with my mother at Vaitele Uta and when I was told that I am the winner of the $200 I was happy because this could help out around the house,” she said.
“I just thank God for this because not everyone is rich and there are people like us who sometimes needs financial assistance but today we are okay.
“This will get us through till pay day.”
She acknowledge the owner of the Samoa Global News when she was presented with the cash this afternoon.
