And while it’s a stepping stone for the Samoa Airport Authority, (SAA) to receive the China Visitor Accredited Certification, it is also a quantum leap for the Samoa Tourism Authority’s (STA) and their drive to profile our country as a tourism destination and entice more visitors which will increase revenues and contribute to our Foreign Reserves and Gross Domestic Product.
On May 7, 2019, Faleolo International Airport in Samoa became the first airport in the South Pacific to be China Accredited.
This means Chinese visitors will feel at home upon arrival to Samoa, having the amenities including Free WIFI and hot waters and many more matched expectation. 162 million Chinese travel abroad last year.
In August 8, 2018, Dr. Marcus Lee, President of the International China Investment Forum was invited by Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) to conduct the China Ready program and 71 local companies attended.
China Ready program comprises of training, auditing, accreditation and product development.
It is a 12 month program with sub services that Welcome China is helping to promote Samoa as a tourism destination in China.

With the successful two roadshows in 2018, there are plans to invite more industry players to join for the 3rd roadshow to China covering 3 cities sales call in November 15, 2019 combine with exhibiting in China International Travel Mart (CITM), largest travel fair organized by Ministry of Culture & Tourism China.
