The Gospel Was Promised From the Beginning

THE GOSPEL FORETOLD

Galatians 3:8–9 “Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: ‘All nations will be blessed through you.’ So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”

Long before the cross, long before Christ came in the flesh, the gospel was already being announced. God preached it in advance to Abraham—not in full detail, but in promise: “All nations will be blessed through you.”

That blessing was always meant to reach beyond one nation. It was never limited by ethnicity, background, or law. It was always pointing to Christ—and to a salvation that would come by faith.

This is crucial. The gospel isn’t a New Testament invention. It is God’s eternal plan. From the very beginning, He purposed to justify sinners—not by works, not by law, but BY FAITH.

And Abraham is the example. He didn’t earn righteousness. He believed God—and it was credited to him. In the same way, all who rely on faith share in that same blessing.

This levels the ground for everyone. No one earns their way in. No one is excluded who believes. All are justified the same way—BY FAITH IN CHRIST. The blessing of salvation has always been received by faith, and it’s still received the same way today. We aren’t called to achieve it—only to trust in the One who fulfilled it.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that Your plan of salvation has always been rooted in grace and received by faith. Thank You that through Christ, the blessing promised to Abraham has reached us. Help us to rely fully on You and to walk daily in faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
