Taxi has been announced as the Gold Sponsor of Samoa’s Measina Festival 2026, backing the biggest national celebration of arts and culture with a $50,000 tala sponsorship.
The announcement was made as the Government officially launched this year’s Measina Festival and unveiled the festival’s new logo, marking the start of a new chapter for the annual event.
Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi Schmidt said “Measina” means “utmost treasure,” describing it as something precious that reflects Samoa’s culture, language, traditions and identity.
He said the festival tells the world what Samoa stands for and called on everyone to protect the country’s cultural heritage for future generations.
“It is up to us all to become custodians of our stories, our dances, our cultural practices and our future generation,” reminded the Prime Minister.
Laaulialemalietoa said the festival should not only create memorable experiences for visitors but also encourage them to stay longer and share Samoa’s stories with others.
The Prime Minister thanked the event sponsors including Taula Beverages Ltd for stepping up as Gold sponsors through the popular Taxi brand of soft drinks.
The Prime Minister acknowledged development partners and the diplomatic corps for supporting the festival.

Alongside Taxi’s contribution, other event sponsors include Vodafone Samoa and Digicel.
The CEO of Samoa Tourism Authority, Niumata Kitiona Pogi explained the significance of the Measina Festival logo which encompasses everything FaaSamoa.
The tuiga, the tanoa, the tootoo and the fue brings together communities, tamaitai Samoa, stories and oratory.
