All Covid Positive Passengers from Brisbane Flight Recovered and Out of Isolation

An update from the National Emergency Operations Centre issued Thursday 24 February 2022 confirms Samoa’s  last positive case passenger from the Brisbane repatriation flight was discharged earlier this week after their required 3 consecutive tests returned negative.

However, 5 frontline workers still remain in isolation and are reported to be well and asymptomatic.

There is still no evidence of a community transmission.

The 272 passengers from a repatriation flight that arrived on the 12th of February remain in quarantine to compete the required 21 days.

“All passengers have had 3 tests within 7 days and results returned negative”.

Vaccinations

To date the current vaccination rates are as follows;

  • AstraZeneca
  • 1stDose – 97.5%
  • 2ndDose – 89.5%
  • Pfizer (12-18 yrs)
  • 1stDose – 92.2% (25,801)
  • 2ndDose – 77% (21,479)
  • Booster Shots
  • Females – 2,212
  • Males – 2,258
  • Total – 4,470

The vaccines roll out program for the age group 5-12 will begin as soon as the paediatric vaccine supplies arrive.
