PEACE

Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is… peace…”

Biblical peace is more than the absence of conflict. It’s the settled confidence that comes from being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

Before salvation, we were at enmity with God because of sin but through Christ, peace has been made. The war is over and we are no longer under condemnation, striving to earn acceptance, or living as enemies of God. This peace becomes the foundation for every other kind of peace in the believer’s life.

The world searches for peace in circumstances like financial security, control, comfort or stability, but those things are fragile and temporary. True peace can’t rest on changing conditions.

The peace produced by the Spirit is different. It steadies the heart in uncertainty, calms the soul in trials, and reminds us that God remains sovereign, faithful, and near.

This doesn’t mean believers never struggle with fear, anxiety, or grief; it means those things no longer rule us. The Spirit continually points us back to the peace we have in Christ.

And this peace also shapes how we treat others. A peaceful heart doesn’t constantly stir division, conflict, and strife; it seeks reconciliation, humility, and unity wherever possible.

True peace isn’t found in controlling life’s circumstances, but in knowing the God who rules over them. Where the Spirit is at work, peace grows.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the peace I have through Jesus Christ. Steady my heart when life feels uncertain and help me rest in Your sovereignty and care. Let Your peace shape both my heart and my relationship with others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
