Samoa Police have confirmed two homicides over the weekend. A 22-year-old male assaulted on Thursday night at Togafuafua, and a 53-year-old father allegedly beaten at the Taumeasina Hideaway bar at Moataa.
In an update posted on social media the Samoa Police, Prisons & Correction Services confirmed the two deaths.
The Togafu’afu’a Homicide Investigation (3-4 July 2026)
On Thursday, 3rd July 2026, Police say they responded to a report of a serious assault involving a 22-year-old male at a business premises in Togafu’afu’a.
“The victim was transported to Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Friday, 4th July 2026.”
Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
Taumeasina Hideaway Homicide Investigation (5 July 2026)
Police also continue investigations into the incident that occurred at Taumeasina Hideaway during the early hours of Sunday 5 July 2026, where a 53-year-old male died from injuries sustained during an alleged assault.
The deceased had recently arrived into Samoa from California, to visit his family.
Police say several individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Police confirm the accused are currently under police custody, awaiting further court proceedings.
The Samoa Police have also reminded the public to refrain from sharing speculation, misinformation or unverified information on social media.
