Police Confirm Missing Boys Found

Samoa Police have confirmed both boys declared missing over the weekend have both been found.

Liva Anetone, 11 years old from Vaimoso Uta had stayed at a friend’s house after school. He then went to his mother’s family in Siumu where he was located.

Amaketo Suega, a 15-year-old from Faleula, was returned to the Afega outpost on Sunday afternoon.

The third child declared missing at the end of last week was a 15 year old girl whom reports say is now under the care of the Samoa Victim Support Group.

Whereas in the case of the two boys, it is unclear why they chose to leave their homes and police have not confirmed if child abuse is a factor.

The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services wishes to notify the public that 11-year-old Liva Anetone from Vaimoso Uta has been found.

According to the police report, on Friday, May 24, 2024, Liva went to his friend’s house after school. The following day, Saturday, May 25, 2024, he went to Siumu to visit his mother’s family.

The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services acknowledges and appreciates the continuous support of the public, which led to the successful reunion of Liva Anetone with his family.
