18 June 2019, Apia Samoa. Penrith Panthers front rower Moses Leota has been called into the Toa Samoa squad as a replacement for the injured Faamanu Brown ahead of this week’s clash against the PNG Kumuls.

The Panthers enforcer has played 47 NRL matches for the club and all 14 games this season.

Leota joined the Panthers junior development system when he moved from New Zealand to Sydney at the age of 13. In 2015 he was a member of the premiership-winning Panthers NYC side, and secured the club’s NYC Player of the Year title.

He made his NRL debut the following year and has recently elevated to be a consistent starter for club.

Faamanu Brown withdrew from the team just yesterday, with an injury sustained over the weekend.

Brown had posted about how sad he was for not being able to join  the Toa Samoa for  this weekend’s match

“Disappointing and gutted to not be a part of the mid-year camp this year due to injury, but I can’t wait to watch and support the brothers,”
