A RENEWED MIND
Ephesians 4:23 “…be made new in the attitude of your minds.”
Transforming our behaviours and habits begins in the mind. Before our actions change, our thinking must change. Paul reminds us that the Christian life isn’t lived by willpower alone—it’s shaped by a renewed mind, a mind brought under the influence of God’s Word.
The world constantly presses its patterns on us, trying to shape how we think, what we value, and how we see ourselves. But the Spirit of God works in the opposite direction, renewing us from the inside out. He teaches us to see through the lens of Scripture, not culture; through the mind of Christ, not the mindset we once carried.
A renewed mind is one that learns to recognise lies and replace them with truth.
Lies like: “I can’t change.” “God doesn’t care.” “My past defines me.”
Truth answers: “I am a new creation.” “God knows what I need; He cares for me.” “My past is forgiven, Christ has set me free.”
The more our minds are shaped by God’s Word, the more our lives begin to reflect His character. Renewal is ongoing—a daily work of grace, a daily surrender to the Spirit’s shaping influence.
We can’t renew our minds by remaining stuck in our past thoughts, memories, and behaviours. We must position ourselves before God—in prayer, in Scripture, and in obedience—and allow His Spirit to do what only He can do: transform us from within.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that You are renewing my mind day by day. Help me to reject the lies that once shaped me and embrace the truth found in Your Word. Help me align my thoughts, attitudes, and desires with Your Spirit and Your Word, so that my life increasingly reflects Jesus. In His name I pray. Amen.
Have a fabulous day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
