Greenology Samoa, in partnership with Solar King New Zealand, has successfully hosted a Solar Systems Awareness Workshop aimed at empowering Samoan communities with knowledge about renewable energy solutions.
The workshop was held on 13th May 2025 at the Lava Hotel Conference Room and brought together community members, church leaders, business owners, and the public.
The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness about solar energy technologies and provide participants with the information necessary to make informed decisions about transitioning to solar-powered energy systems.
The event was officially opened with a prayer by Reverend Siaosi Salesulu, whose words— “Solar energy is today’s resource for a brighter tomorrow”—set an inspiring and hopeful tone for the remainder of the proceedings.
The program featured expert-led presentations and interactive discussions focused on the economic and socio-economic benefits of solar energy. Attendees learned how solar power can significantly reduce electricity costs and contribute to a more sustainable and self-reliant Samoa.
“We were pleased with the strong turnout and enthusiasm from participants,” said Muagututi’a Tupu Afano, Director of Greenology Samoa.
“It is evident that our communities are increasingly interested in clean energy solutions and are ready to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.”
Representatives from Solar King New Zealand shared valuable insights and real-world success stories from solar projects across New Zealand and the Pacific region. Their contributions offered practical guidance for those considering solar energy for residential or commercial use.
