Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (SFESA) Commissioner, Tanuvasa Petone Mauga said close to 50 firefighters and emergency personnel were involved in efforts to contain the blaze.

Native Cuisine Restaurant was located at the Corner of Cross Island Rd and Vini-Vaiala Rd, Apia.

Samoa Police were also at the scene, and the main road was blocked as members of the public and neighbours gathered nearby.

No injuries had been reported from the restaurant or the nearby home affected.

Speaking to SGN on site, Commissioner Tanuvasa said firefighters were still working to extinguish the fire before investigators focus on establishing its cause.
