Fetu Samoa have fallen valiantly to the Jillaroos 60-0 at Suncorp Stadium in Queensland’s Brisbane.
It was an unlucky game for Jamie Soward’s women after finishing the game with just 13 fully fit players after injuries to Jessica Patea, Sarina Masaga, Jetaya Faifua, Jaydika Tafua and Sienna Alofipo.
Take nothing away from the Jillaroos who were clinical and did not allow Samoa any breathing room for the full 80 minutes.
Jess Sergis, Tamika Upton and Julia Robinson all notched themselves a double on route to a 11 try thumping of Fetu.
The result ends Fetu Samoa’s Pacific Championship campaign after back to back loses.
Despite the results, Jamie Soward would be proud of his young side.
11 of the 18 players who ran on the field today for Fetu are all 20 years old or younger.
The future is bright for Samoa and they should be excited with the potential they have and what this Fetu side can be in the future.
The Jillaroos will play the Kiwi Ferns next week but because Samoa have lost two in a row, the final will be played by Australia and New Zealand in two weeks no matter the result in next weeks match.
