With today’s Pacific clash against Tonga, Junior Paulo has become the most capped Toa Samoa player of all time with 19 appearances.

Peseta Taimalelagi Paulo led from the front to help Samoa’s 34-6 win over Tonga with a fantastic performance including a massive tackle that has been dubbed the “hit of the century”.

Paulo plays his footy with the Parramatta Eels and has become a household name amongst Eels fans.

The 113kg prop started his career with the Eels before signing a three year deal with the Canberra Raiders between 2016 and 2018.

In 2019 the Toa Samoa co-captain was welcomed back with open arms by Parramatta where he remains today.

On top of his 263 NRL matches, “JP” as he is known by his colleagues, has also played 11 State of Origin matches for NSW.

At 31 years of age Paulo still has a few more years left in the tank which could see him become a 20+ test player for Samoa solidifying his status as one of Samoa’s greatest.
