KNOWING WHEN TO WALK AWAY
Proverbs 23:9 “Do not speak to fools, for they will scorn your prudent words.”
There’s a time to intentionally and thoughtfully correct someone, and a time to stay silent.
This verse isn’t about giving up on people but about exercising discernment.

A fool, in biblical terms, is not someone lacking knowledge but someone who rejects wisdom and refuses correction.
When someone mocks or ridicules truth, even the wisest words will fall like seeds on concrete.
Trying to force change in someone who consistently resists God’s ways can drain your energy, stir up unnecessary conflict, and leave you discouraged.
Proverbs reminds us—don’t waste your words or your peace. Jesus Himself taught that we should not cast pearls before swine—not because people are worthless, but because WISDOM MUST BE RECEIVED TO BE EFFECTIVE.
Your objective is to speak the truth in love, but not to argue endlessly with those who mock or ignore it.
Sometimes the most powerful witness is prayer, patience, and living out your faith quietly while letting God work on their heart.
Are you trying to “fix” someone who refuses to listen? Do you feel drained because you keep arguing instead of praying? Don’t mistake persistence for wisdom.
Prayer:
Father, teach me discernment in my conversations. Help me to know when to speak and when to be silent. Give me peace to let go of those who mock or reject Your wisdom, trusting that You alone can change hearts. Guard my words and keep my focus on those who are ready to hear. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a wonderful weekend. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
