Covid Update: One Death in the Past 48 Hours Takes Samoa’s Death Toll to 13

 Tues 19th April 2022, Samoa Covid Update. In an updated report the Ministry of Health (MOH) says it has recorded one new COVID-19 related death within the 48 hours from 2pm April 16th to 2pm April 18th, taking the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 13.

“The deceased is a 73 year old male. Out of respect for the families and relatives, we will not be making any further comments”.  

The Ministry reports there are now 4 cases in the Intensive Care Unit and 15 in managed isolation at the Motootua National Hospital.

The number of cumulative cases since the outbreak is now 6,246 according to the Ministry of Health. The MOH reports 190 new cases between 16-17 April and 172 new cases recorded between 17-18 April.
