REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE

Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’”

The law placed us under a curse because we could not keep it. Its standard is perfect, and our failure is certain. Left to ourselves, we stand condemned.

But then comes a glorious truth: CHRIST REDEEMED US. To redeem is to rescue at a cost. And the cost was Himself.

“By becoming a curse for us,” Jesus didn’t simply remove the curse—He took it. The judgment we deserved fell on Him. The condemnation that belonged to us was placed upon Christ. At the cross, the sinless One was treated as cursed so that the guilty could be set free. This is substitution. He stood in OUR place. He bore OUR penalty. He carried OUR curse.

And because He did, we are no longer under it. This is why the cross is everything. It’s where justice and mercy meet. Where sin is judged and sinners are saved. Where the curse ends and redemption begins. We aren’t trying to escape the curse—we have been redeemed from it.

CHRIST HAS ALREADY DONE WHAT WE COULD NEVER DO.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that Christ has redeemed us from the curse by taking it upon Himself. Help us to grasp the depth of His sacrifice and to live in the freedom He has secured. Keep us anchored in the truth of the cross. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
