Afoa Stefan Szegedi elected new SAME President

The Samoa Association of Manufacturers and Exporters (SAME) elected a new-look Executive Council at its recent Annual General Meeting.

Afoa Stefan Szegedi of Treasure Box Samoa takes over as President after Taulapapa Maria Leota stood down from re-election after leading the organization for the past 5 years.

Afoa had served as Vice President alongside Taulapapa.

Donald Narayan of Pacific Technologies was elected Vice President.

Nathan Wilson of Wilex Samoa is the Executive Secretary while Anish Chandra of Vodafone Samoa was elected Treasurer.

The other Executive Council Members are Charlie Vaai – Vailima, Jackie Adams – Pacific Apparel, Maria Leota – Kuki Samoa, Mayday Laung Hing – Frankies Supermarket, Niko Vui – Nonu Samoa, Raymond Voigt – Beekeepers Association, Robert Pereira – Maali Company, and Sabrina Percival – Natural Foods International.

Afoa Stefan Szegedi said he and the SAME Executive will reaffirm SAME’s commitment to strengthening the manufacturing and export sectors as vital engines of Samoa’s economic prosperity.

“SAME will continue to work alongside national and regional partners to create an enabling environment that supports sustainable business growth, innovation, and international market access for our members..”
