A Faith That Keeps Growing and a Love That Keeps Increasing

FAITH THAT GROWS, LOVE THAT INCREASES

2Thessalonians 1:3 “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”

Paul had already commended the Thessalonians for their faith and love. Now he rejoices because neither had remained where they were. Their faith was growing and their love for one another was increasing. That’s a great picture of Christian maturity.

Following Jesus isn’t about how long we’ve been Christians or how much Bible knowledge we’ve accumulated. WE SHOULD BE CHANGING. Our faith should become stronger as we learn to trust God through different seasons of life. Our love should deepen as we learn to forgive, serve, encourage, show patience, and put the needs of others before our own. THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM TO GROW.

So instead of only asking, “Do I have faith?” perhaps we should also ask, “Is my faith growing?” Instead of only asking, “Do I love others?” ask, “Am I becoming more loving?”

SPIRITUAL MATURITY ISN’T JUST ABOUT WHAT I KNOW. IT SHOULD ALSO BE SEEN IN WHO I AM BECOMING. May our faith keep growing and our love keep increasing.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the work You are doing in my life. Help my faith to grow as I learn to trust You more, and help my love for others to continually increase. Don’t let me become satisfied with where I am spiritually. Continue changing me and making me more like Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Have a great week. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
