DILIGENT IN EVERY SEASON
Proverbs 31:13 “She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.”
The picture is of a woman who works with eagerness, not reluctance. She is diligent in her labour and puts her hands to the task with joy. She understands that her efforts—whether in managing her home, caring for her family, or providing for others—are not wasted. Every stitch of wool and every thread of flax carries the mark of her devotion.
In today’s world, work is often seen as drudgery, something to escape or minimise. But Scripture shows us a higher view.
Work, when offered to God, is worship. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the ordinary tasks that no one else notices, or the big assignments that everyone sees—when we work with willing hearts, we bring honour to Him.
God is not only glorified in the pulpit or the mission field, but in kitchens, vegetable gardens, fale lalaga, offices, classrooms, and workshops. Every place we put our hand to diligent, faithful work can become a place of worship.
Prayer:
Father, give me eager hands and a willing heart. Teach me to see my work—whatever it may be—as an offering to You. May I serve faithfully, even in the unseen tasks, knowing You are honoured in them. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a wonderful day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
