19 More Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarships for NUS Students

The National University of Samoa and the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation jointly hosted the 2023 Scholarship Awards Presentation Ceremony and Alumni Luncheon last Thursday 11 May 2023 at the AOA Conference Room.

The 19 additional scholarship awards funded by the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation includes 13 Bachelors degrees, four Post Graduate Diplomas, one for a Master of Public Health and one PhD student.

Last weeks event celebrated the academic achievements of the scholarship recipients, and provided them with an opportunity to connect with alumni.

NUS Vice-Chancellor, Associate Professor Tuifuisa’a Patila Amosa, says there are 43 continuing sponsored students, and the 17 for 2023 takes the total to 62 scholarships from Yazaki Kizuna Foundation for this year.

The 2023 scholarship recipients include Suiselanu Esau, Lupe Iosefa, Lisafonotele Vili, Samanther Mikaele Eteuati, Alana Maliko, Marjorie Leung Choi, Sheronite Lima, Cedrella Lepapaigalagala Elisara, Fetulima Faimanifo, Mackenzie Faaeenotimoli GRA, Daniellemuti Pili, Krystal Taulapapa, Ietitaia Simi, Xiaomei Isara Aofia, Eileen Danielle Williams-Peni, Anzac Mauava Tai-Leituala, and Gerrit Peni.

Each recipient presented a speech to express their gratitude to the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation for their financial assistance.

His Excellency Mr. Keisuke Senta – Japan Ambassador to Samoa and Dr. Junichi Kitami, Managing Director of Yazaki Kizuna Foundation congratulated all the successful NUS Scholarship recipients of 2023.

The celebration also included the presentation of cash gifts to Aliitasi EtI, Ioana Tuagalilo, Delphine Talia Sitanisilao, and Maulalo Iakopo in recognition of their achievements and completion of their programmes of study.

The National University of Samoa highly values its partnership with the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation and extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation for their continued support.
