The Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Public Service Commission (PSC), Kolone Tikeri, is participating alongside 500 delegates from across the world at the United Nations Public Service Forum 2026, convened this week in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The forum theme is: Transforming public institutions: advancing innovation, accountability, participation, and inclusion.
The Secretary’s participation is kindly supported by the Tautai – Governance for Economic Growth Program.
The global event brought together delegates from over 100 United Nation member states to focus on making public services more inclusive, accessible, and citizen oriented.
The Public Service Forum is the United Nations’ flagship global platform. It is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of public institutions and promoting effective, responsive, and people-centered service delivery.
The Forum provides a platform for countries to discuss and share experiences and initiatives on global and regional best practices; challenges in digital governance and institutional transformation; as well as innovative approaches to public service delivery.
The program for the Forum included the commemoration of the Public Service Day – Celebration on the 23rd of June.
According to the PSC releas, the objectives of the Forum are aligned with the Government of Samoa’s commitment to sustaining community empowerment, fostering good governance, advancing social justice, and strengthening partnerships.
“They also resonate with the Commission’s vision of achieving Public Service Excellence through the delivery of high‑quality public services.”
The Secretary is said to be engaging with senior leaders of United Nations agencies overseeing public service development programs and initiatives.

The PSC Secretary is having high-level discussions with senior officials from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in New York, the Head of the UN Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and members of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA).

“The bilateral discussions provided avenues for collaboration on capacity‑building initiatives, alongside support for the adoption of digital tools and the establishment of systemic frameworks designed to measure and enhance excellence in public service delivery.”
