Two youth charged with murder in relation to an incident in Fiaga on Sunday 2nd August 2020 have pleaded not guilty before the Supreme Court of Samoa this week.
Asani Mau Sanele and Pou Solomona have both entered not guilty pleas to murder with the alternative charge of manslaughter after a 19-year-old was allegedly beaten to death during a drinking session in Fiaga last month.
Police said at the time that they had responded at about 3am on that Sunday morning to the incident.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim sustained blunt force trauma to his head and body”, Police Commissioner Su’a Fuiavailiili Egon Keil had said at the time.
Asani Mau Sanele, 21, was represented by Shane Wulf while Unasa Iuni Sapolu stood for 20 year old Pou Solomona.
A 5-day hearing has been set by the Courts for the 3rd of May 2021.
