Samoa and New Zealand are co-hosting a Women, Peace and Security Summit in Apia, this Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August 2019, to promote the Women, Peace and Security agenda and its implementation in the Pacific, as well as relevant action under the Boe Declaration on Regional Security, as endorsed at the Pacific Islands Forum, in 2018.

The Summit will feature influential Samoan, Pacific and international speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines, and participants will include military and police personnel, government officials, academics, and civilian, youth and civil society organisation representatives.

Countries represented at the Summit include: Australia, Canada, Chile, Cook Islands, Fiji, France, French Polynesia, Japan, Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The Summit programme presents various media opportunities and media are invited, as per the schedule advised below.
