Everyone loves a good parade.

And the 2023 Teuila Festival Floral Float Parade, held last Friday to mark the end of the festival, did not disappoint.

Some beautiful creations on wheels were on display, with their proud creators marching alongside them.

The BEST FLOAT of the parade, adorned with fine mats and even sporting a tuiga (Samoan traditional headpiece) and a ula nifo (traditional Samoan necklace), was designed and created by the Samoa Water Authority Emoloyees Association.

Riding the float was Miss Samoa 2022-23, Haylani Kurrupu, dancing elegantly as the float made its way down Beach Road, with Samoa Water Authority staff proudly walking alongside their ‘Water For Life’ creation.

Also celebrated was SWA’s stance as an equal opportunity employer and inclusive workplace. The team’s female staff working in various positions such as engineers, technicians and meter readers, were seen marching proudly alongside Miss Haylani Kuruppu as she celebrated the end of her reign.

The current Miss Samoa, Miss Moemoana Safaatoa Schwenke, is now also featured in a SWA “Water for Life” video message.

Congratulations Samoa Water Authority Employees Association!
