Happy Friday Saints.
Romans 5:7-8 “VERY RARELY WILL ANYONE DIE FOR A RIGHTEOUS PERSON, THOUGH FOR A GOOD PERSON SOMEONE MIGHT POSSIBLY DARE TO DIE. BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE FOR US IN THIS: WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US.”
You might hear of people who’ve given their lives to save a family member or perhaps have died for a good cause. But God’s love is so amazing and gracious. Jesus died for SINNERS.
He didn’t just die for people who are ‘kind’a good’ or for those who some might consider ‘worth saving’ because they’re not too bad. He didn’t just die for the elite, the rich, the noble, the honourable, or the well-educated. After all, no matter how good one might be – WE ALL FALL SHORT OF GOD’S GLORIOUS STANDARD.
He died for SINNERS – the UNGODLY. He died for the unkind, the unloving, the vile, the murderer, the adulterer, the prostitute, the sexually immoral, the abuser, the liar, the cheater, the unethical, the criminal, and the list goes on and on…
He’s no respecter of persons. He doesn’t discriminate. He died for every ethnic group on the planet – every skin colour and race. He died for every part of society, every man, woman and child – regardless of their sexual orientation or identity. We are all born fallen, and we are all in desperate need of God’s saving grace.
Does God really love EVERYONE? John 3:16 tells us that God so loved “THE WORLD” that He gave His one and only Son. And 1Timothy 2:4 says that He “WANTS ALL PEOPLE TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH.”
So, if you think you’re undeserving of God’s love and mercy, if you think you’re too bad or too sinful for God’s grace, then you are EXACTLY who Jesus died for.
God LOVES YOU. And if you want to know what real love is, look at Jesus.
Have a fabulous weekend.
God bless, and lots’a love,
Warren
