When there is no Wood the Fire Goes Out

Happy Tuesday Saints.

Proverbs 26:20 “WHEN THERE IS NO WOOD, THE FIRE GOES OUT; AND WHERE THERE IS NO TALEBEARER, STRIFE CEASES.”

Everyone needs someone to talk to. And I really do mean some-ONE. If you’re talking to more than one person about your spouse, a family member, a friend, or a colleague, you might not be confiding in others – you could be gossiping. You could be backbiting.

There are different reasons that people use to justify their slandering of others. Some people even do it under the guise of “please pray for me/them/us.” If someone has more than one confidante, they might be a talebearer.

Proverbs 16:28 says that “A WHISPERER SEPARATES CLOSE FRIENDS.” How many marriages, families, friendships and organisations have been separated by the whispers of a talebearer?

Proverbs 20:19 says, “A SLANDERER REVEALS SECRETS; SO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH A BABBLER.”

It’s pretty simple – if someone talks to you about others, they are talking to others about you. And as long as people keep talking – strife and discord will remain. Every time someone says something – they’re adding more fuel to the fire and prolonging the tension.

If you’ve been talking about your spouse, family, friends or colleagues to others, don’t expect your problems to end any time soon.

Don’t add any more fuel to the strife and discord, and don’t let others give you any more firewood either. Remember Saints, WHEN THERE IS NO WOOD, THE FIRE GOES OUT.

Keep the royal law – walk in love and enjoy the peace and harmony that come with unity.

Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
