The system is forecast to slowly drift further south and away from the island group later in the evening.

Expect periods of heavy rain with strong and gusty winds and possible thunderstorms for today mainly over Savai’i island. Current wave observation remains at above 2.5 metres due to sustain winds of 45-55 kph over southwest marine waters. Hence, all WARNINGS remain for the islands.

Additionally, Tropical Disturbance 09F situated Northeast of Fiji is predicted to move Southward away from the country, it may also direct high waves over our marine waters.

Potential Impacts:
Heavy downpours with poor visibility and gusty winds, foggy and slippery roads over mountain passes and ranges, pooling near roadsides and waterways. River overflows and landslides. Strong and gusty winds with strong currents with rough to very rough seas.
