Happy Thursday Saints.
Matthew 5:16 “IN THE SAME WAY, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE OTHERS THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD DEEDS AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.”
The Bible tells us to pray in secret, fast in secret, and give generously in secret. But not everything we do as Christians is to be done secretly. The way we live our Christian life is not supposed to be done in private.
The miracle that God performed inside our hearts is supposed to be expressed outwardly in how we speak and live.
Matthew 5:13-16 describes the kind of impact that godly living can have in a dark world. These verses describe what God’s people can be like when we live according to the Beatitudes that Jesus outlined earlier in verses 3-12 of the same chapter.
Those who recognise their spiritual poverty without Christ; who mourn over sin and are saddened by the things that grieve God; who humble themselves; who hunger and thirst for righteousness; who are merciful to others; who are pure in heart; who are peacemakers; who are persecuted for righteousness and are insulted for Christ’ sake – these people are THE SALT OF EARTH and THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
With God inside their hearts – they have a love that is not of this world. They can do the extraordinary by the power of the Holy Spirit and live selfless lives.
Their humility positions them to reflect the heart of God. They are able to love those who don’t love them, minister to those who don’t care about them, be merciful to those who don’t show them any mercy, and pray for those who persecute and insult them.
This kind of life isn’t possible in our own strength. And when do reveal this kind of godly character – it gives glory to the One who enables us.
We don’t light a candle to hide it. Our Christain life is not a private phenomenon. Our faith in God must be lived out loud and clear for ALL to see. Saints – LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE OTHERS.
Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
