Happy Friday Saints.
The fear of failure has caused many to feel ashamed about being corrected and yet, there’s nothing shameful about it.
Hebrews 12:10 says that “GOD CORRECTS US FOR OUR OWN GOOD, BECAUSE HE WANTS US TO BE HOLY AS HE IS HOLY.”
There is nothing shameful about being corrected by the Lord. We cannot grow and become more Christlike without it.
There isn’t a single person on this planet who doesn’t need to make any adjustments in order to become more like Christ. He is perfect in every single way and we are all on a journey to become more like Him every day.
God loves you. He only wants what’s best for you. His correction is always prompted by love.
Before Jesus corrected the rich young ruler in Mark chapter 10; verse 21 says that “JESUS LOOKED AT HIM, LOVED HIM AND SAID TO HIM, ‘THERE IS ONE THING YOU LACK…'”
As a child of God, He won’t let you walk down a self-sabotaging path without lovingly correcting you. And even if, like the rich young ruler, you think you’ve pretty much got yourself all sorted, there’s always room for improvement. After all, the goal is to be like Jesus.
Correction from God is a way of life. It’s not a one-time event; it’s a journey. A journey that all of us are still on. One that requires others to be patient with us, and should compel us to be patient with them.
The more Christlike we become, the more we experience life at its absolute best. He is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. And if we are going to enjoy the abundant life that He wants us to have, we have to be teachable and open to correction… every day!
God bless and have an awesome weekend. Lots’a love,
Warren
