Happy Thursday Saints.
As we saw yesterday, you have control of what and who you listen to.
Proverbs 13:20 says “WHOEVER WALKS WITH THE WISE BECOMES WISE, BUT THE COMPANION OF FOOLS WILL BE DESTROYED.”
You have control over who you associate with. Walk with the wise and you’ll become wise. And the same principle applies to walking with the faithful, the disciplined, the committed, the strong, the healthy, the energetic, the knowledgeable, the profitable, the honourable, the humble, and the victorious. Their winning ways will become your winning ways.
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. Walk with the complainers, the doubters, the unwise, the pessimists, the unfaithful, the unreliable, the haters, the selfish, the careless, the lazy, and the quitters who never finish anything, and you’ll become weak and easily defeated.
1Cornthians 15:33 says “DO NOT BE DECEIVED, BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER.”
It’s foolish to think that we can spend a lot of time with people who are living aimlessly, carelessly, and recklessly, and expect their foolish ways not to corrupt us and lead us off track.
The Apostle Paul appropriately asked in 2Cornithians 6:14, “WHAT DO RIGHTEOUSNESS AND WICKEDNESS HAVE IN COMMON? OR WHAT FELLOWSHIP CAN LIGHT HAVE WITH DARKNESS?”
He told the church in Corinth not to be unequally yoked. You become who you connect with.
Who you associate with and walk with is YOUR CHOICE. Their ways of thinking, their ways of talking, their attitudes, their beliefs, and their behaviours will all become yours.
If you choose the right friends – you’ll bring the best out of each other. You’ll help one another learn, grow, persevere through adversity, and succeed in life.
Have an awesome day. Keep moving forward and continue winning control of your life. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
