30th July, 2021, Apia Samoa. As Samoa continues its vaccination programme against the global coronavirus pandemic, Vodafone is committed to do its part to keep Samoa COVID-FREE.
As an incentive to all its staff and encourage them to get the first and second dose of COVID-19, Vodafone Samoa are giving $50 to all fully vaccinated staff.
When the first dose of of vaccines arrived into the country in April this year, Vodafone together with the Ministry of Health conducted a vaccination area inside its main office at Maluafou for all staff to receive the free vaccination. This was safely monitored by nurses to help manage potential side effects. To date, Vodafone is proud to be the only company in the private sector to roll out such a scheme for its employees.
With the majority of the population now receiving their second vaccination, Vodafone are again encouraging its staff to get their second dose by offering $50 tala to each employee after they have received their final COVID-19 vaccine as an incentive. Vodafone is committed to maintain all protective measures that have kept Samoa safe to date.
Since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, Vodafone have always taken measurements to ensure its staff, especially front-line staff, are protected by providing hand sanitizer stations and masks.
Samoa is one of the few countries in the world without active community cases of the coronavirus, and Vodafone have vowed to play its part to maintain Samoa’s covid-free status.
“With what’s happening around the world, we encourage everyone to work with the Ministry of Health to get vaccinated; it’s the only way to keep those we love dearly, protected. This initiative is our way of giving back to our employees for doing their part in staying COVID-FREE” – says Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma, Vodafone CEO.
