Apia, Samoa – 3 July 2025. The Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development is excited to announce a brand new partnership with Seagles Samoa.
This collaboration is all about creating more opportunities for young people across Samoa—through sport, culture, and leadership.
In a recent meeting, MWCSD CEO Loau Donina Vaa, ACEO Economic Empowerment Ana Leauvasa, Seagles Samoa leaders Patron, Afioga Lemalu Nynette Sass and President Auali’itia Leata Ma’ilo, as well as UNDP youth engagement specialist Tai Ah Him, came together to plan how to bring these big ideas to life.
Le Afioga Lemalu Nynette Sass shared that this year’s theme, “Paddle for Progress,” is an inspiring reminder for young Samoans to move forward together—with respect, unity, and purpose.
Loau Donina Vaa said this theme connects perfectly with last year’s Youth Development Day focus, “Casting the Net—Toe Timata le Upega,” which encouraged young people to reconnect with culture and community. She also shared that this year’s Youth Week will bring youth, development partners, civil society organisations, and government ministries together in a powerful show of teamwork.
“The Ministry is here to serve the heartbeat of Samoa—its people—and we can only do this together,” said Loau. “When we paddle as one, we create waves of positive change that carry us all forward.”
Seagles Samoa, also called the Seagles Outrigger Canoe Club, is a vibrant community organisation helping people of all ages build confidence, skills, and cultural pride through paddling and mentoring.
🌟 Stay tuned! In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about this exciting platform and all the activities planned for Youth Week.
Together, we’ll paddle forward—one stroke at a time—to build a stronger, more inspired generation.
