Two Passengers Traveling from Suva to Lautoka Injured in Bus Crash

The impact with a lamp post caused it to fly off and crash through the roof a family home.

Two passengers traveling on a bus from Suva to Lautoka were taken to hospital on Sunday morning, Fiji Police confirmed in a statement.

The bus lost control near Malevu village in Lautoka, veered off the road, hit a lamp post and landed into the drain.

Police say the impact caused the top part of the lamp post to fly off, crashing  through the rooftop of a nearby house.

Part of the lamp post crashed through this home injuring one member of the family.

“It fell through into the house causing injuries to a family member,” police said.

“The rest of the passengers weren’t injured and they boarded another bus to their destinations.”

Investigation into the incident continues.
