A truck travelling along the Aleisa Road at around 11am Thursday morning caught fire causing commuters to steer far and reverse along the main road to avoid danger.
According to an eyewitness who filmed the incident and posted it on social media, the truck was carrying a full load of boulders.
It stopped along the main road when it caught fire and the driver got out.
Fire and Emergency Services Authority Commissioner, Tanuvasa Petone Mauga, confirmed there was a lone driver and noone was injured.
“The FESA team were called out to an area called Ualesi in Leauvaa-Uta, close to Aleisa,” said the Fire Commissioner.
It is suspected that the 10-wheeler truck belonging to RnR Construction had overheated causing the vehicle to catch fire.
