Together, We Can Overcome Sin By Restoring Each Other In Love And Gentleness

Happy Monday Saints.

Last week, we saw how difficult it is to help others while we are carrying stones in our hands, ready to condemn them.

Galatians 6:1 says that, “IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT IN A SIN, YOU WHO LIVE BY THE SPIRIT SHOULD RESTORE THAT PERSON GENTLY. BUT WATCH YOURSELVES, OR YOU ALSO MAY BE TEMPTED.

When dealing with someone who is caught in a sin, the goal should be to RESTORE them. But they can’t be restored by anyone; they must be restored by those WHO LIVE BY THE SPIRIT.

Too often, well-meaning, immature and unspiritual Christians who are still very carnal, offer hypocritical correction and unhealthy guidance.

Spiritual Christians have learned to take the plank of wood from their own eyes first and, therefore see clearly to help others who have a speck of dust in theirs.

Spiritual leaders restore others with empathy, understanding, humility, and GENTLENESS. They don’t LORD OVER THE PEOPLE and arrogantly dominate them.

Too often, Christians can harshly judge others when they themselves have a 4×4 plank of wood in their own eyes. They are blind to their own flaws and shortcomings.

If you truly are SPIRITUAL, you wouldn’t gossip about those who need help or destroy their hopes of restoration with unforgiving and nonrestorative punishments.

Love RESTORES. And restoration takes TIME. Sometimes, it can take weeks, months or even years to restore someone. It takes a lot of effort and a whole lot of patience, but with the right help and support, people can be restored to full strength again.

If you really want to help others overcome sin, start with the heart to RESTORE them.

Have a great week.

God bless, and lots’a love,
Warren
