Three Plead Not Guilty to Sexual Offences Relating to Person with Disabilities

Three Plead Not Guilty to Sexual Offences Relating to Person with Disabilities

Three of the four defendants charged with sexual connection, sexual violation and sodomy pleaded  not guilty before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke in the Supreme Court of Samoa yesterday.

The three who entered not guilty pleas are 30 year old Aiaraisa Faimai of Vailoa Faleata  23 year old Mose Loli of Vailoa Faleata and Puipaa, and 22 year old Kalameli Neueli of Pata Falelatai.

The fourth and youngest defendant, 18 year old Arona Falaniko of Vailoa Faleata and Neiafu Savaii did not enter a plea because his lawyer did not appear.

The four are charged with sexual offences relating to a female with disabilities.

All defendants are remanded in custody until their Court hearings.

Aiaraisa and Mose have been adjourned to the 9th of April for the hearing of their bail application. Defense counsels are Diana Roma for Aiaraisa Faimai and Maureen Tuimalealiifano for Mose Loli.

Kalameli Neueli has been adjourned to 16 March to file a bail application while Arona Falaniko has been given time to reappoint a new lawyer.
