Happy Wednesday Saints.
Deuteronomy 32:4 tells us that God “IS THE ROCK, HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT, AND ALL HIS WAYS ARE JUST. A FAITHFUL GOD WHO DOES NO WRONG, UPRIGHT AND JUST IS HE.”
The Hebrew word translated “just” means “righteous in conduct and character; lawful; one who dispenses justice.” It is often used to describe God as a just judge.
As an upright and perfect God, the lawful and just part of His character requires that justice must be dispensed upon all unlawfulness.
God would have to deny His own character to not serve any justice or punishment upon any sin and unlawfulness. The fact that He is just in ALL HIS WAYS, requires that He judge ALL unrighteousness and sin.
Because of Who He is, the standard that He requires in order for you and me to be deemed innocent is IMPOSSIBLE for us to reach. There is NOTHING THAT WE CAN DO to make ourselves right with God.
Thankfully, not only is God just, but He is also loving. 1John 4:16 says that “GOD IS LOVE.”
He knew that we would never be able to meet the righteous requirements of His impossible standard. But because GOD IS LOVE, He did the impossible for us.
Romans 5:8 says, “GOD SHOWED HOW MUCH HE LOVED US BY HAVING CHRIST DIE FOR US, EVEN THOUGH WE WERE SINFUL.”
He sent a perfect and sinless Christ to satisfy the righteous requirements of the law.
Romans 4:25 says that, “HE WAS HANDED OVER TO DIE BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, AND HE WAS RAISED TO LIFE TO MAKE US RIGHT WITH GOD.”
I can’t make myself right with God, and neither can you. So, love sent Jesus. Jesus did everything that was legally required to MAKE US RIGHT WITH GOD. Hallelujah!
