2Corinthians 3:18 “BUT WE ALL, WITH UNVEILED FACES, ARE LOOKING AS IN A MIRROR AT THE GLORY OF THE LORD AND ARE BEING TRANSFORMED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY; THIS IS FROM THE LORD WHO IS THE SPIRIT.”
The goal for all of us as Christians is to become more and more like Christ.
You are a new creation. Your sins have been forgiven, and your spirit has been reborn, but your mind still requires some work.
Colossians 3:10 says to “PUT ON THE NEW SELF WHICH IS BEING RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE AFTER THE IMAGE OF ITS CREATOR.”
It’s the KNOWLEDGE of your new identity in Christ that allows you to live outwardly the miracle that God performed inside your heart. Your new heart cannot live beyond the boundaries of your mind.
In order for you to fully reflect the image of Christ, your mind needs to KNOW who He is. And the best way to get to know God is through spending time with Him in prayer and through READING THE BIBLE.
Contained within the Bible is a reflection of your true self. And the more you look “AS IN A MIRROR AT THE GLORY OF THE LORD,” the more you’ll be “TRANSFORMED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY.”
Without KNOWLEDGE of your true self, you’ll struggle to change your thinking and behaviour.
Whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or not quite your true self, find a quiet place to be alone with God, read the Bible and breathe life back into who you truly are.
Rather than letting wrong thoughts dominate your thinking and behaviour, put more effort into who you CAN BE and start reflecting THE IMAGE OF YOUR CREATOR.
