A CHRIST-LIKE POSTURE
Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
Paul continues describing what it means to walk worthy of our calling. He doesn’t begin with ministry skills, spiritual gifts, or outward success—he begins with character, because the Christian life is first lived in the heart.
Humility is the mindset of Christ. It isn’t weakness—it’s choosing not to promote ourselves, defend our pride, or demand our own way. Humility makes room for grace. It quiets the ego so the Spirit can lead.
Gentleness is strength with restraint. It’s the ability to respond with grace when others expect irritation, to remain steady under pressure, and to speak the truth without cutting. It reflects the heart of Jesus, who welcomed the weary, corrected the sinful, and restored the broken.
Patience is love that refuses to quit. It’s the long road of compassion—enduring mistakes, misunderstandings, delays, and frustrations without growing cold. Every healthy relationship requires patience. So does every healthy church.
Bearing with one another in love means choosing to stay committed even when it’s difficult. We don’t love people because they are perfect—we love because God has loved us. Love carries the weight; it doesn’t walk away.
This is the posture of a believer walking worthy of the call.
Prayer:
Father, shape my heart to reflect the heart of Christ. Help me to walk in humility, gentleness, patience, and a love that bears with others. May my attitudes honour You and strengthen those around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
