Taula Supports Battle Between Mango Tree and Marist BIG Golf Clubs

Two of Samoa's top clubs battle it out over two days to find who will emerge as Champions

Saturday 22 July 2023 Apia Samoa. Taula Beverages is supporting two of Samoa’s most prestigious golf clubs; battling it out this weekend in a tournament that will feature 52 players over two days.

Day 1 of the Championship Cup was played at Fagalii golf course on Friday, while on Saturday morning, the tournament shifts to Faleata.

Day 2 at Faleata, Sat 22 July 2023.

Aumua Tuatagaloa Ming Leung Wai is the President of Marist B.I.G. (Brothers in Golf) from the Faleata Golf Course while Lilomaiava Taufusi Salesa is the President of the Mango Tree golf club from the Royal Samoa Country Course at Fagalii.

The Marist BIG club are the reigning holders of the Top Golf Club in Samoa having won the 2022 Taula Samoa IBFC International Golf Club Championship in September last year.

Marist BIG had edged out Le Vaiotausala Golf School from Fagalii who had won the inaugural international event in 2021.

The Mango Tree club are currently 4th in the Top Golf Club rankings behind the Tsunami Club from Faleata who had come in 3rd.

The Mango Tree Golf Club has over 40 members and had recently celebrated its 11th birthday together with the close of Samoa’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

This weekend’s tournament between Marist BIG and Mango Tree is proudly sponsored by Taula Beverages.

“This is part of Taula’s ongoing support of health and well-being through sports, and international sporting events that help to boost Samoa’s economy,” said Mulitalo Amosa Tupai of Taula Beverages.

The Championship Cup for this weekend’s event has been donated by Papalii Charlie Fruean of Telbac Engineering Company.
